So what was the demise of Brownings and Park Place.  Another downtown independent bites the dust and leaves up in the air who’s next.  The microbrew was a great concept as well as product.  Gonna miss the ole boys.

A dinner trip to Limestone on October 11, 2008 proved “note-worthy”! On a quest to have a steak dinner we headed to Limestone as I refuse to eat at a Chain Steakhouse. We my hunch proved to be correct in that we had some great steaks here. Our dinner stated with  a beautiful heirloom  tomato cart where fresh heirloom tomatoes are sliced before you and dressed with just the right aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Yep we got the last of the tomatoes for the season……and they were gooood! Our Steak  entree’ were a petit filet cooked perfectly to a medium rare and an incredible  smoked seared rib eye. We ended the dinner with a Chocolate souffle large enough for 2 and perfect for those “choc-a-holics” like me. Limestone again proves to be on its game…………

So……what’s new in The Ville?

On Monday, September 8, 2008 the players, caddies and dignitaries involved in the Fightmaster Cup Challenge were treated to an evening of grand dining.  Host Chef, John Castro along with the company of 6 James Beard chefs prepared a 7 course dinner that made a tremendous impression for all attendees.  Joining Castro were chefs Peng Loii (Asiatique), Shawn Ward (Jack Fry’s), Daniel Stage (Le Relais), Jim Gerhard (Limestone), Anoosh Sharriat, and Anthony Lamas (Seviche).  Each course was paired with a wine that was generously donated by Cosentino Winery and Hendry Winery. The dinner took place at Winston’s Restaurant on the campus of Sullivan University.

Attending the event was Mayor Jerry Abramson who spoke to the guest and unveiled the Fightmaster Cup.  The Cup is named in honor of Don Fightmaster who is the inspiration for many amputees and those who have lost limbs to accident, injury or war.

Players and attendees, please share your experience at the event.

Looking for a great microbrew in the “Brew City”. Food to tag along would help also, so help me if you can.

Is it worth the trip in the winter?  I have no idea what’s open or closed, can anyone help out?

So Long Pho Paris

Sorry to hear Pho Paris is history.  Can anyone fill me in about its replacement?

Touting NYC as a city with some of the world’s best fare may be an overstatement. With new chefs opting for less competitive markets in exchange for the opportunity to be able to express their culinary talents, New York City is not as hot of a dining mecca as in years past.  Don’t agree????? Then let us hear from you!   Agree?????  Let us hear from you!

I heard through the grapevine that Napa River Grill is moving to the Camelot Shopping Center.  If this is true, why?  Can anyone tell me what the scoop is?

Hello world!
