IS NEW YORK CITY REALLY AS HOT AS THE LOCALS SAY IT IS?

Touting NYC as a city with some of the world’s best fare may be an overstatement. With new chefs opting for less competitive markets in exchange for the opportunity to be able to express their culinary talents, New York City is not as hot of a dining mecca as in years past.  Don’t agree????? Then let us hear from you!   Agree?????  Let us hear from you!

I keep two ongoing Top Ten Restaurant lists in scribbled in my brain. One is the Spots of The Moment, and the other the To Go To Spots.
So my favorite places in the city right now are (in no order):
    ABC Kitchen
    Recette
    The Spotted Pig
    Cookshop
    Tia Pol
    Telepan
    Market Table
    L’Artusi
    Grand Sichuan (8th Ave & 24th)
    Jean Georges

My Top Ten To Go To?

    ilili
    Devi
    The Wright
    Benoit
    Northern Spy
    Bar Boulud
    Le Cirque (revisit)
    Jimmy’s .43
    The Redhead
    Boutique Eat Shop

And am ANXIOUSLY anticipating the openings of EATALY (tomorrow!), Osteria Morsini, and April Bloomfield’s new endeavor right on the haunches of The Breslin at The Ace Hotel.
